Located at NEX in Serangoon, Chin Mee Chin brings the familiar character of one of Singapore's coffee-shop names into a contemporary mall setting. The project celebrates the warmth, familiarity and everyday rituals associated with Singapore's coffee-shop culture while introducing the brand to new neighbourhood and generation of diners.
The interior draws from the visual language of traditional local coffee shops, reinterpreting nostalgic details through a cleaner and more contemporary approach. Retro-inspired finishes, familiar textures, graphic elements and carefully crafted joinery create subtle references to the past without turning the space into a reproduction of an old kopitiam. The result balances heritage and modernity, creating an environment that feels recognisable yet fresh and approachable.
