KISSAJIN

Located within Shaw Centre Singapore, Kissajin draws inspiration from the enduring culture of Japanese kissatens - traditional tea and coffee houses that have long served as places of gathering, pause and everyday connection. Conceived as a contemporary interpretation of this cultural typology, the project explores the intersection between nostalgia and modern dining, creating an environment where familiar traditions are reimagined through a contemporary lens.

The spatial experience balances intimacy and openness through layered seating arrangements, tactile material finishes and carefully framed visual moments that encourage interaction and discovery throughout the dining journey. While rooted in the warmth and familiarity of classic Japenese cafes, the environment also supports the theatrical and seasonal nature of contemporary omakase dining, allowing moments of craftmanship and presentation to become part of the overall experience.
